FAQ
Common queries and how-to's
Q.
Why cant I view some webpages properly?
A.
The ONEt cant view some parts of webpages as it
does not support FLASH content (for example you cant view Youtube
videos or iPlayer etc).
Q.
How do I setup my eMail?
A. The Elonex ONEt / ONEt+ comes with a built in email client that supports connections using POP3 and IMAP.
Click here for step by step instructions on setting up the connection.
Q.
Why cant I connect to the internet?
A.
To be honest if you are reading this page then you
have no problems connecting to the internet (!!) but if you
have a friend who has problems then please get them to call
our support number (0871 90 296 90).
There is also a software update regarding Wi-Fi internet so
please follow the steps described in
Software Update.
Your ONEt supports wireless internet with WEP
authentication. If you are having trouble connecting to the
internet wirelessly this may be because you are using WPA
authentication. This can be easily changed to WEP: please
check your router’s settings or contact your Internet
Service Provider
Q.
My ONEt+ only has 1GB of storage?
A.
The ONEt+ has an additional 1GB of storage than the
ONEt. When you look in the File Manager this shows
as 1Gb of memory in My Documents and 1Gb of memory
in the Extend folder, making a total of 2Gb.
You can also add additional removable memory by using an SD
card in the SD Card slot.
Q.
I can't open Word documents on my ONEt.
A.
The ONEt is compatible with Microsoft Office files
(not Office 2007) so you can make and save files one your
ONEt that can be opened in Word / Excel and vice versa. You
must save the files as a .doc (word
processor) or .xls (spreadsheet) file.
Q. I cant view video clips properly.
A.
The ONEt does not have powerful graphics decoding
hardware so can only play small video clips. You should only
play videos at 350x288 pixels at less than 129kbps to avoid
jumpy graphics.
