The Lumina
a trend setting 32" Media Center PC

Elonex recommends Microsoft® Windows® Media Centre Edition 2005

Lumina 32'' Media Center PC The arrival of the Microsoft® Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005 takes the convergence of IT and consumer electronics to the next level. Elonex, the first PC manufacturer in the UK to develop a purpose built Media Center PC, has maximised the potential of MCE 2005 with the introduction of the Lumina to a consumer market hungry for new digital innovations.

Gideon Wetrin, Marketing Director at Elonex commented: "The arrival of MCE 2005 will offer our users a never before dreamt of digital experience. Of course Elonex wanted to exploit the full capabilities of MCE 2005, and with the Lumina we have done just that." Wetrin continued: "The Lumina is purpose built for running MCE 2005 - this isn't just a normal PC with a fancy operating system." "Microsoft is committed to further developing the Media Center experience, and Elonex is committed to developing the right hardware on which to showcase this amazing software."

Demetre Cheras, Digital Home Computing Director at Elonex said: "Once again Elonex has raised the bar in the digital home convergence market. Elonex has a strong background in e-home products, and the Lumina has grown out of years of experience in this area." "The Lumina has evolved throughout the year, but the final production design was always scheduled to coincide with the MCE 2005 launch. This is a groundbreaking product in the digital home arena, and we believe that Elonex is at least 6, or possibly even 12 months ahead of the competition." Cheras continued.

"The future is all about intelligent screens in the living room, the kitchen, the study etc. - not about beige boxes dressed up as consumer devices, and the Lumina is the first product that can truly be called an intelligent screen." said Cheras. "We are very excited about the ease of use and strong feature set provided by Microsoft's latest Media Center software, and feel that the stylish design, and highly integrated nature of the Lumina complements MCE 2005 perfectly." concluded Cheras.

For those individuals who have already invested in large plasma or LCD screens for the living room, Elonex can still provide you with the Media Center experience, via one of many products from its Artisan range. When it comes to Media Center, Elonex really does have every base covered.

The launch of Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 has given us the ideal launch pad for the Lumina, while the Lumina is the ideal platform to showcase Media Center.
