Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust primarily serves the 540,000 population of Southampton and South West Hants' Health Authority, it also provides specialist services such as neurosciences, cardiothoracic surgery, specialist paediatrics and cancer care across central southern England.

The Challenge
Southampton University Hospital NHS Trust wanted to develop their own Intranet and Browser based applications using the new HICSS (Hospital Integrated Clinical Support System) and take delivery of browser front-ends to existing systems, such as PAS.

The Solution
These will all be run on Elonex PCs. In addition to this, over 2000 Elonex PCs are networked on the corporate LAN providing access to all core Hospital Systems including Patient Administration, Pathology, Radiology and Nursing.

The Result
Southampton were thoroughly satisfied with the efficiency of the project and the quality of service that Elonex provided. The award winning ProSentia 3000s are all running the applications without any problems.
